AgriInnovation Program

The AgriInnovation Program is a 5-year initiative under the Growing Forward 2 policy framework ending in March 31, 2018, that provides funds and/or collaborative support from experts in knowledge transfer to companies with innovative agri-food, technologies or services. These companies can apply for assistance either as a contribution for pre-commercialization research and development, and knowledge transfer, or a repayable contribution to get innovative products ready for the market. The Industry-Led Research and Development Stream is focused on supporting pre-commercialization research, development and knowledge transfer leading to innovative agriculture, agri-food and agri-bases practices, processes and products. Under this stream, applicants may receive a non-repayable contribution of up to $5 million and/or support in the form of collaborative assistance by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) research scientists and experts for knowledge transfer. The Commercialization and Adoption Stream is focused on helping for-profit agri-businesses with product demonstration, commercialization and adaptation phases. These companies may receive a repayable contribution of up to $10 million.
